By ED MORAN

On the schedule it’s just eight games on the road. But this next trip could end up meaning a whole lot more for the Flyers than a long spell away from home ice. With the team sitting on a 6-1 record and coming into the […]

Rich Hofmann in the Daily News Agrees - McNabb Falling Short
Rich Hofmann | McNabb falling short
THIS IS ABOUT the quarterback because, in the National Football League, it is always about the quarterback. Eagles coach Andy Reid can attempt to deflect the attention away from Donovan McNabb, and you would expect nothing else, but it is wasted breath. This is about McNabb. He is off - off […]
McNabb Missing When Opportunity Knocks
Sunday’s 19-16 loss to the Bears is a signpost along the road of a long season. It shows the way to the playoff exits for optimistic fans, me included. I have been maintaining a positive point of view despite the early avalanche of misadventures on offense. My outlook had been that as McNabb improves, so […]
Injury update - Runyan said he will play
Jon Runyan did not participate in practice on Friday.
“It’s frustrating, as you’re getting into the tub to kind of take care of your body, you end up hurting yourself,” he said.
“It’s not going to be fun, but we’ll get it done,” Runyan said.
LJ Smith did not practice, but BDawk is listed as having full participation. […]
Predictions for the Eagles vs Bears - game 6
The Bears offense is 10th in passing and 14th in rushing in the NFC. They score 19.7 a game and that puts them below the middle of the pack, at 10th in the conference. The Eagles by contrast score 20 per and are firmly in the middle at 8th. Of course that number […]

Bears Linebackers: Blame us, not Babich
From the Chicago Tribune
By Vaughn McClure | Tribune staff reporter 10:07 PM CDT, October 18, 2007
Hunter Hillenmeyer and Brian Urlacher were quick to defend defensive coordinator Bob Babich on Thursday.
The guy Urlacher’s calls “Bullet” has been under the gun, with the defense not performing up to expectations.
“Bullet has been here just as long as […]
Igglesblog.com on red zone issues
This Was a Good Win
It’s always an interesting experience coming late to the post-game commentary party. When the Eagles lost to the Saints last year in the playoffs, I was in Vegas for the annual buddy trip, so after the game ended it was back to the tables. I didn’t read anything about the game […]
More on the Eagles Red Zone Woes form Bleedinggreennation.com

The story this morning and really since the Giants game has been about the Eagles red zone woes. While it was amplified in the Jets game, it’s really been a problem all year….
The Eagles have moved into opponents’ red zones 16 times through five games, […]
The Eagles are Closer to Right than Wrong on Offense
If the Eagles had scored 1 touchdown on their trips into the red zone, they would have gone a long way to making me feel good about Sunday’s win over the Jets. As it was, the winds made Akers field goal attempts hairy, and that left the game in jeopardy when it would have otherwise […]

Just for a laugh!
- Dan Rather, Katie Couric, and a tough Marine Sergeant were all captured by terrorists in Iraq. The leader of the terrorists told them that he would grant them each one last request before they were beheaded. Dan Rather said, "Well, I'm a Texan; so I'd like one last bowlful of hot spicy chili." The leader nodded to an underling who left and returned with the chili. Rather ate it all and said, "Now I can die content." Katie Couric said, "I'm a reporter to the end. I want to take out my tape recorder and describe the scene here and what's about to happen. Maybe someday someone will hear it and know that I was on the job till the end." The leader directed an aide to hand over the tape recorder and Couric dictated some comments. She then said, "Now I can die happy." The leader turned and said, "And now, Mr. Marine tough guy, what is your final wish?" "Kick me in the ass," said the Marine. "What?" asked the leader? "Will you mock us in your last hour?" "No, I'm not kidding. I want you to kick me in the ass," insisted the Marine. So the leader shoved him into the open, and kicked him in the ass. The Marine went sprawling, but rolled to his knees, pulled a 9 mm pistol from under his flack jacket, and shot the leader dead. In the resulting confusion, he jumped to his knapsack, pulled out his M4 carbine and sprayed the terrorists with gunfire. In a flash, all of them were either dead or fleeing for their lives. As the marine was untying Rather and Couric, they asked him, "Why didn't you just shoot them in the beginning? Why did you ask them to kick you in the ass first?" What???" replied the Marine, "and have you two assholes report that I was the aggressor?"
