The Eagles defense has been the steadying element of this turbulent season. On Sunday afternoon, in the Meadowlands against the Jets, the offense followed up its horrid display on the same field 2 weeks earlier against the Giants, with its second winning performance of the year. That performance was made a winner by another strong […]
Eagles Step Forward and Beat the Jets 16-9
Can the Eagles right the wrongs of past weeks vs Jets? Predictions
Ray Didinger is my go to guy for Eagles analysis. I have been wrong in 3 of the 4 weeks of this season. I expect the Birds to get it right this week. The Jets are not very good. I think the Eagles win easily, but more importantly, Ray thinks they […]
Boulerice gets 25 games - Why would he do that when the team is winning big?
Jesse Boulerice scored a 25 game suspension for this ridiculous cross check to Ryan Kessler’s head. The team was way up in the game, why do this? This spoiled what should otherwise have been a superb night for the revamp Flyers.
Patriots will beat Cowboys on Sunday
The Cowboys are 5-0. Fox is thrilled. The NFL is thrilled. They like nothing better than to talk about the Cowboys. But really, are they that good? The teams they have beaten are a combined 6-19 and 1 of the teams has 1 win, and 2 of them are winless.
Against the 1 win Buffalo Bills, […]
Did the ump make the right call?
I hate to see officials impact a game in the playoffs in a significant way. Last night, in Arizona, Justin Upton was called for runner interference in the bottom of the seventh inning, while breaking up a double play at second base. The Diamondbacks were trailing 5-1 at the time. They had 0 outs, and […]
Flyers off to a good start out west
The Philadelphia Flyers have begun their season on the road, in the far west of Canada. They seem to feel right at home. In 3 games, against some of the best teams in the West, the Flyers have gone 2-1 after winning in Vancouver last night against the Canucks by an 8-2 score.
Daniel Briere is […]
Charlie Manuel Gets a Contract Renewal
Charlie Manuel’s contract has been renewed for 2 years through 2009, with a club option for a third year. In his third year as skipper, Manuel guided the Phightins to the NL East crown and into the playoffs for the first time since 1993. That achievement was hard fought, as the team battled through many […]
Looking forward to the 76ers season with an excellent Iguodala highlight vid
A chezzy62 creation.
As the 76ers season approaches, I am wondering if they win 41 games this year. They did not make big splashy moves in the off season, but really they did that last season when they traded AI and let CWebb walk. I believe that both moves had to be made. Andre Iguodala became the […]
Andy Reid says, “The only way I don’t finish up coaching this year is if I die,”…
Breaking his silence on his personal life’s impact on the his job performance, and whether he will make it through this season, Andy Reid reached out to Fox Sports Jay Glazer to set the record straight.
From the FoxSports website, by Jay Glazer:
After the Eagles got thrashed by the Giants last Sunday night, rumors quickly arose […]
An Exciting Phillies Season Ended by Rockies
Last night in Denver, the Colorado Rockies completed the first step to the World Series. They defeated the Phils 2-1, in a pitchers duel ironically, and completed the NLDS sweep. The Phillies ran into a buzz saw that won’t be beaten by the D’backs.
“To be within one strike of being eliminated (with a San Diego […]

Just for a laugh!
- Dan Rather, Katie Couric, and a tough Marine Sergeant were all captured by terrorists in Iraq. The leader of the terrorists told them that he would grant them each one last request before they were beheaded. Dan Rather said, "Well, I'm a Texan; so I'd like one last bowlful of hot spicy chili." The leader nodded to an underling who left and returned with the chili. Rather ate it all and said, "Now I can die content." Katie Couric said, "I'm a reporter to the end. I want to take out my tape recorder and describe the scene here and what's about to happen. Maybe someday someone will hear it and know that I was on the job till the end." The leader directed an aide to hand over the tape recorder and Couric dictated some comments. She then said, "Now I can die happy." The leader turned and said, "And now, Mr. Marine tough guy, what is your final wish?" "Kick me in the ass," said the Marine. "What?" asked the leader? "Will you mock us in your last hour?" "No, I'm not kidding. I want you to kick me in the ass," insisted the Marine. So the leader shoved him into the open, and kicked him in the ass. The Marine went sprawling, but rolled to his knees, pulled a 9 mm pistol from under his flack jacket, and shot the leader dead. In the resulting confusion, he jumped to his knapsack, pulled out his M4 carbine and sprayed the terrorists with gunfire. In a flash, all of them were either dead or fleeing for their lives. As the marine was untying Rather and Couric, they asked him, "Why didn't you just shoot them in the beginning? Why did you ask them to kick you in the ass first?" What???" replied the Marine, "and have you two assholes report that I was the aggressor?"
