Flyers Steve Downie Match Penalty Hit in PreSeason Game with Senators
Flyers hopeful Steve Downie is trying to make the team. Last night he went overboard in his efforts to make an impression. This hit is brutal and led to Dean McAmmond being taken off the ice on a stretcher. He has a concussion but was able to move his limbs when examined at the hospital.
Eagles Set the Tone on the First 2 Drives in Game 3 Win
The Eagles were ill prepared in their opener in Green Bay, inexplicably came out flat on Monday Night Football, and began game 3 on Sunday looking up from an 0-2 hole at the Lions prowling the Linc. How would they react with their premier defensive backs out, their primary scoring threat nursing a sore knee […]
Lining up the Keys to Eagles Win over Lions
You can make a long list of outstanding and/or greatly improved performances by Eagles players in Sunday’s win over the Lions, but in my opinion, you should start up front on both sides of the ball.
The offensive and defensive lines elevated their play tremendously. The O line was a force and owned the […]
Why Charlie? Why?
With the finish line fast approaching and the Phillies still trailing the Padres and Mets, despite their recent wins in 8 of 9, how does Charlie Manuel turn over Sunday’s game to Kane Davis??
I tuned in first in the 6th with the Phils down 3-2. I learned that Hamels had left after 5 and had […]
Ray Didinger and ESPN Predictions
I did not have much time to check out Didinger on WIP Saturday. Ray predicts a difficult day for the Birds, but I missed his score. He thinks the Lions win, I think.
ESPN Picks

Sean Salisbury – Lions
Merrill Hoge – Eagles
Ron Jaworski -Eagles
Mark Schlereth – Eagles
Eric Allen - Eagles
Chris Mortensen – Eagles

Close Enough to Count - Phillies Are Just 1 Game Out
I am eating my words. I said a week ago, after the second Mets sweep , that I was not going to let the Phillies get me wrapped up in their playoff chase until they had found a way to get on top of the heap of contenders for the wild card or the division. […]
SCREW THE LOGIC
The pressure is mounting. Just how number 5 and the rest of the Birds react to this dismal start will save or sink the season. 0-3 = no playoffs. It is just that simple. They are facing a Lions team that is feeling good about itself, but it is still the Detroit Lions. They are […]
This is Donovan McNabb’s Last Season as an Eagle
Speaking on 610 WIP this morning, Wednesday 9/19, former Eagle and current media type Gary Cobb, reported that sources within the Eagles organization have told him that the Eagles are planning for this to be Donovan McNabb’s last season with the team. I agree with him. This is likely the farewell performance for McNabb.
G is […]
Andy Reid is Baking a Crisis in Confidence
At the start of the season, after what now was obviously a wasted preseason, I made some assumptions about the Eagles offense. I made assumptions because the 1st team O played so little in the preseason, that there was nothing left to do but make assumptions.
I assumed that the Birds have the ingredients for a […]

Just for a laugh!
- Dan Rather, Katie Couric, and a tough Marine Sergeant were all captured by terrorists in Iraq. The leader of the terrorists told them that he would grant them each one last request before they were beheaded. Dan Rather said, "Well, I'm a Texan; so I'd like one last bowlful of hot spicy chili." The leader nodded to an underling who left and returned with the chili. Rather ate it all and said, "Now I can die content." Katie Couric said, "I'm a reporter to the end. I want to take out my tape recorder and describe the scene here and what's about to happen. Maybe someday someone will hear it and know that I was on the job till the end." The leader directed an aide to hand over the tape recorder and Couric dictated some comments. She then said, "Now I can die happy." The leader turned and said, "And now, Mr. Marine tough guy, what is your final wish?" "Kick me in the ass," said the Marine. "What?" asked the leader? "Will you mock us in your last hour?" "No, I'm not kidding. I want you to kick me in the ass," insisted the Marine. So the leader shoved him into the open, and kicked him in the ass. The Marine went sprawling, but rolled to his knees, pulled a 9 mm pistol from under his flack jacket, and shot the leader dead. In the resulting confusion, he jumped to his knapsack, pulled out his M4 carbine and sprayed the terrorists with gunfire. In a flash, all of them were either dead or fleeing for their lives. As the marine was untying Rather and Couric, they asked him, "Why didn't you just shoot them in the beginning? Why did you ask them to kick you in the ass first?" What???" replied the Marine, "and have you two assholes report that I was the aggressor?"
