Brian Westbrook and Brian Dawkins are questionable for the Sunday Night prime time matchup with the Giants. Abdominal injuries are hard to work with for anyone let alone an NFL RB. This is a game that both teams need badly, but maybe it would be better to have Westbrook miss the game. He would have another 2 weeks to heal up with the bye coming next. Buckhalter and Hunt can provide adequate run support. With the Eagles recent history of sports hernias, shouldn’t they be very careful with their primary offense weapon?
- TE L.J. Smith Groin OUT (O)
- FS Brian Dawkins Neck (Q)
- CB Lito Sheppard Knee (D)
- T William Thomas Knee (D)
- RB Brian Westbrook Abdomen (Q)
- K David Akers Quadricep (P)
- LB Stewart Bradley Hand (P)
- S Sean Considine Knee (P)
- QB A.J. Feeley Hand (P)
- DE Jevon Kearse Shoulder (P)
- CB William James Finger (Q)
- LB Matt McCoy Ankle (P)
Note that Will James has a lacerated finger and is listed as Questionable. That happened in practice. That could be significant if it impacts his ability to play. Lito is not going to play, Dawk is 50/50, and what can you really expect if he does play? The Birds need James to play and play well. Joselio Hanson has been OK in his role as nickel back, but if he has to start and play a lot of primary coverage on Amani Toomer or Plaxico Burress, that could be asking too much.
