I was surprised to see a small forward picked by Billy King in the draft.  Don’t the Sixers have this player already in Andre and Rodney? I guess he felt that Young was the best player available.  The team needs to improve the  talent level, so I understand that thinking.  I just wonder how he fits with the other players already on the roster.  It seemed obvious that Rodney Carney may have wondered how the playing time will be shared.  I watched some of the summer league and he was working hard to impress.

Anyway, I found some background on Thaddeus Young.  He was highly touted coming out of HS, and had a good(not great) freshman year, statwise.

It will be interesting to see how Mo works the rotation.  I know it was summer league, but was the string of strong showings by Rodney Carney an indication he is coming to camp intent on securing his place in the starting lineup?

How is the starting lineup likely to look?

Point Guard -Andre Miller

Shooting Guard - Andre

Small Forward - Rodney

Power Forward - ? How about Shav Randolph?

Center - Sammy Dalembert

The roster has 6 players listed at G-F or F who stand around 6′7″.

G-F - Andre is 6′6″, and Derrick Byers is 6′7″

F - Thaddeus is 6′8″, and Rodney, Kyle and Bobby Jones are listed at 6′7″.  Except Kyle, all are similar in style.
